Default winding resistors

Has anyone ever wound there own resistors. I see this company -
http://www.audio-consulting.ch/silve...r_resistor.htm - Sells silver wire wound resistors and I would like to try to build a resistor like this myself. I know, resistors are cheap but it would be fun to see if I could build one.

I don't think build is the right word. You build a house or speakers. In this case you wind thin wire in a circle around a wooden dowl, until you get the desired resistance. You can do this with copper also and it would have a similar acoustic result as silver, esspecially if you use copper wire in the rest of your system anyway; I would think. Maybe not though, it is a long length of very thin wire.

Also it would be nice to have a winding machine for this purpose. I would imagine winding the 18.2 ohm resistor in the picture by hand for 26 hours, this might result in some sort of psychopatch dillusions; and no one wants that.

How much inductance do those things have?

Its fairly easy to wind one though, stick the dowel into a drill, attach the wire, and let the drill do the rest. Although wire that thin might be a problem.

I thought about that too. I came up with the answer - a lot. But that makes no sense, it filters out all frequenies
