Default cabinet builders -- will these speakers fit?

I'm tasked with coming up with an easy project for a friend of mine. He's heard my Ariels and likes them. My idea is for him to build a set of ME2-like speakers and augment them with a sub.

There's a cabinet of about the right size from Woodstyle(Madisound), the WS-802R. It's made of 3/4" material. It's a little oversized, but some extra bracing or something would fix that. My dilemma is this: The cabinet is only 16" tall. The ME2 calls for 18". The ME2 plans call for the distance from the top of the top speaker to the bottom of the bottom one to be 15 3/16". My question is, will they fit? I think they will, but maybe I'm overlooking something.

Drawings of the woofers can be found at http://www.d-s-t.com/vifa/ . Look under classic line for the P13WH-00-08. The ME2 plans are here: http://www.audiokit.it/ITAENG/KitDif.../ARIEL/me2.gif

Please tell me if it's a go or not.

They won't fit if you radius the front edge of the cabinet as shown.

You'll wind up with about 3/8" between the rim of the top driver and the cabinet edge. Ditto for the bottom.

Can be sure without seeing the actual cabinet but the grill might no longer fit as designed.
