Crossover Kappa 9.2i II

Hi Folks,
I have a pair of Infinitys Kappa 9.2i II from a friend.

I am modifying the crossover.

Now the problem:

In the Bass section there is in the signal a big capacitor (2500uf) und parallel a coil und behind 2 resistors connected with a switch.

What happens if I throw out this und still leave the 18db filter inside the crossover.

Is this just a passiv "Low Filter" or is it part of the Bassreflex construction?
