Hi it's me again,
I'm building the wesnor ellas and i'm wodering if i wired them wrong. The woofer is rated at 8 ohms and the tweeter is 6ohms. Now i think i wired these in parrallel so that would have an impedance of about 4 ohms rite? My amp is rated at 8ohms. Should i wire the drivers in parrallel or series and what is the best way of wiring in series or parralel. Thanks, nOOSE |

Don't you need a filter?

You don't wire them in series or parallel- you wire them to the respective LF/HF outputs of your crossover.

![]() and were just wiring the drivers together with nothing else. Perhaps you should clarify a bit - you DID build the crossover, right? Is your question perhaps how to wire the inputs to the filter sections...? If so, the answer is effectively "parallel"; you wire both of the "source" wires to your positive binding post, and both the grounds to your negative binding post. |

I guess you can say that the drives are paralell, however that´s the way it should be.
You do not need to worry about impedance dropping low. The x-over direct the signals to the drivers so bass frequencies sees the woofer impedance, and the tweeter signal sees the tweeter impedance. If you would connect the drivers directly to the same amp without crossover then you would end up with the lower impedance that you first thought would happen. /Peter |
