Default Line array wire

I'm going to be building a new line array after liking what I heard from my last one (69 cent PE mid/bass and PT2 tweeters) and I want to do a keeper build on this set. On the last set, I wired all the drivers with whatever I had on hand, which turned out to be RS hookup wire of 24ga. Since LA's have so much wire in them, as opposed to say a simple 3-driver box, I'm thinking of using something suited to it - maybe larger diameter???

I'm not a wire freak, so there's no way I'm gonna spend 100 dollars a foot on boutique stuff, but what do you guys suggest for decent wire when you're gonna have a rather large amount of it in the speaker? Does it make sense to go to say, 16ga just for the sake of lowering resistance if nothing else? Or am I getting anal about something I don't need to?

It's kinda tricky to A/B something like this, so once I close up the box, that's it.

Thanks,
Allan

24 ga is a bit small, you'll have some resistance issues. Go with 16 or 14 ga, don't waste money on exotics. The Sound King wire at Parts Express is quite adequate.

I built two of the PE/Onkyo and PE/PT2 LA's. I used 12 Ga. wire on both. In the first case, I used a stranded wire. For the next project, I went to a solid so that I could fab up all the "jumbers" and make a neater back.

All the connectios were soldered. I soon abandoned the iron and went right for the "mini" torch. Much faster and ultimately does a better job.

Solder the wires to the drivers before mounting. It make the job much easier.
