Does anyone know of any inexpensive or freeware that simulates active crossovers on "real" speakers?

My thought is to record samples into a .wav or even .mp3 file then process via software into a High Pass and Low Pass. Each section crossover characteristics can be processed with variations in crossover frequency, slope, q, baffle step compensation etc.

These sections are then recombined and played back through via the soundcard into the actual speakers inside the room. This way, it is a simple process to experiment to home in on the optimal parameters.

Using multi channel sound cards, even multi way simulation is possible.
