I want to turn my 2-way Infinity Entras into 3-ways. The plan is to build build new cabinets and add a 8" woofer(vifa maybe) to the existing 2x)6.5" and pick up a stock 3way crossover from Partsexpress? Will this work? Or am I throwing money away?

It will work in the sense that you will get sound. A much better option is to add a powered sub woofer to your existing system. It will come with an active crossover and enable better integration.
