More info than this is needed to give any kind of intellegent response... are you looking to make a rear-loaded horn for a fullrange driver, or are you trying to build a bass horn with the 8"er? What is the driver you have?

How patient are you?
Bill Fitzmaurice who posts here does amazing folded horns. On his site you can see the Tuba 24 - a 24" cube sub designed for PA use. He'll be publishing the Tuba 18 in AudioXPress in a couple months. It'll be an 18" cube designed for corner placement and tailored more for home use. It uses a cheap MCM 8", so even if it doesn't work with your current driver it's only $35 or so for the proper one.
I'm looking forward to seeing the plans, and am seriously considering trying one or two depending on the complexity.
