Default Changing Dimensions of a TL?

I am preparing to work on a project that places Wayne J's PeeCreek design into Bob Brines Peerless Pipes TL enclosure (they use the same woofer). My question is this...can the enclosure be made skinnier and deeper so long as it retains the same length and the same area at the driver and terminus? I've drawn this out to give the speaker a width of 8.5" and an overall depth of 15.75". The internal divider has also been changed to a different slant to provide a constant rate of diminishment (real word?).

Am I on the right path here? I just don't care for the width of Bob's design and the PeeCreek has already been designed for an 8.5" baffle with BSC.

Thanks.

Your plan should work OK. 8 1/2" is really thin for this tall a speaker. I guess that makes for good SAF, but you must remember that the original 10 1/2" width is required to accomadate the 1 1/2" round-overs.

Going from 10 1/2" with a 1 1/2" round-overs to 8 1/2" with square edges will seriously increase defraction spikes above 3KHz or so. It will also increase the depth of the notch at the top of the baffle hump. Whether you can hear these problem is up for grabs, but I designed the cabinet with these concerns in mind.
