Default Is this vinyl any good?

Looking for a cheap alternative to veneering some cheap speakers and this struck my eye when visiting Parts Express:

http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showd...number=260-014

Best of all it's on sale today. Is this stuff basically contact paper? Have any of you used it, and if so, how good does it look? Is it reflective?

ANY information is GREATLY appreciated!

Thanks!

Yes it's easy to use and look good when all said and done. I attached a speaker I finished that I used to cover my MDF

Wow Rob, that does look pretty good! Is it durable at all or would you say it's about as durable as contact paper? Reason being is sometimes we have small children at our house and up to 4 dogs over at a time (don't ask hehe)!

Thanks!

The finished speaker. The front is the black vinyl and the back is painted

Definately as durrable as contact paper. It's a bit thicker so It should stand up well. Worth the $!3 do do a cabinet.

Excellent! Thanks!

Now you have me wondering...pay the $13.65 for the Red Maple like you have or get the Cherry for $9.00, being the deal of the day. I think I like your finish better

Anyone else have any other opinions?

Thanks!

Go to a store that sells material by the yard. You can get a much more durable vinyl for less $$$ , plus you can see exactly what you are getting. Just use contact cement to apply.
