Hi guys,
I wish to derive an approximation for the transfer function of my new subwoofer for simulation/testing purposes. I've measured the frequency response (low end roll-off) and I can measure the phase response. I understand that closed box speakers act as second order high-pass systems.
What will the transfer function look like and what parameters can I measure (with a mic) to determine an approximation for it?
Thanks a lot!
Pete

By transfer function do you mean:
A) The equation or
B) The chart with the response for your value of Qtc?
If you want the response chart, it is available from this post here:

If you want the equation, I have on my hard drive Richard Small's two part article on the Closed Box from the Journal of the Audio Engineering Society, published in 1971, and can Email it to you if you wish. Let me know.
I Email in GIF and you can download and print.
If my email box gets full, keep trying. Or drop me a note on this thread.
