Default Capacitors in Cabinets

Have been thinking for a while about the advisability of putting capacitors into passive speaker boxes. As there are a lot of acoustical waves bouncing around in the cabinet, is it not possible that these could have an effect on distortion?
After all, capacitors are neither opaque or transparent to audio waves and there must be some transmission of the waves through the capacitors themselves which would, presumably, produce variations in the capacitance and modulate the signal.
Has this ever been investigated
Just a thought but comments would be appreciated.

Regards,

Generally in the Fanatical Audiophile world people keep the crossover filters outside the box for this reason- also because you can then keep tweaking the values until you go insane..

These internal vibrations also affect inductors, which is why I pot the ones I wind or use foil type chokes to minimize susceptibility. You can also make a subcompartment within the speaker cabinet to hold xover components.
