I jumped on the deal and grabbed 64 of the Pioneer 4" drivers at $0.69 each to make some line arrays. Then they lower the price to $0.49 each so I grabbed another 32. I also grabbed a total of 128 of the Onkyo $0.48 3/4" tweeters. My question is...
Is this deal really THAT great? Do these kinds of deals come around every 6 months to a year, or is this a pretty rare find? I'm new to DIY audio so I jumped early and grabbed a bunch. We're looking to move in 2 months so the less I have to move the better. Should I keep stocking up on these to make test speakers and speakers for friends or will another deal similar to this likely come around again in the next 1-2 years? http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/pshow...number=269-568 http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/pshow...number=269-702 Thanks guys! |

I am assuming you noticed this at parts express but they have a project page for those 4" drivers.
http://www.partsexpress.com/projects...e/nsb/nsb.html There are some line array pictures and some listed tweaks. They look like nice little drivers. I've looked at buying some of these to just toy around but I don't have the time/space to use any. I'm sure more deals will come around in 1-2 years but why worry if you have the space to store them? They have been up on parts express for a while now (no one quote me on this but they have been there for AT LEAST a month) so I'd assume in 2 months they should still have some left so you could wait and then buy more if you are impressed after the move. The price drop also signals to me that they aren't moving as fast as part express guessed, but again, don't make any quotes on that. |
