I have a pair of vifa p17WJ woofers and a pair of vifa D25AG tweeters, and i plan to make a pair of floor standing speakers. The construction of the cabinets is fairly straight forward to me, but i wouldnt have a clue as to how to make the crossover, none of it makes sense to me. Is there anyone or anywhere i can go to that can whip up crossover to suit this woofer and tweeter in melbourne? thanks

I am sure there are plenty of people here who advise against useing a pre made x/o . for lots of reasons.
but here is one designed of those driver by the old distributors of vifa driver in Oz . if you have problems with it just ask here there are plenty of people willing to help |

Right time, right place.
John Krutke has the latest (and greatest?) crossover for the P17/D25. IIRC he purchased some new P17 drivers and tried a half dozen freely available/previously designed crossovers floating on the web. However they all seemed less than optimal. Some crossovers were just plain bad, others were ok and probably suitable for the drivers at the time of development. But the P17 has been in production for some 20 years, and seems to have changed somwhere (or evolved gradually?) during this course. Inductors can be purchased from Acoustic Concepts in Melbourne. WES Components in Sydney stock SCR capacitors also at reasonable prices. |
