new boxes

New boxes for RadioShack A/V 44 (metal boxed A/V 44s just stuffed in this wood cabinet). I also re-ported them to 7" x 1"DIA ports to get rid of port noise from the 1/2" DIA original ports. The ports stick out into box about 5" outside of the AV 44s. These wood boxes cover up the ugly external ports. I slightly overstuffed them and the boominess has disappeared. Quite happy although the open, airy sound of the original boxes is gone. They are better for louder music now. The two sets of connectors on the back were for the planned two sets of A/V 44s I was going to stuff i there but only one pair is in there. The veneer is a manmade veneer from Italy and is made of wood product but is totally uniform over hundreds of sheets. I got some scraps before I was laid off. I only had small pieces so I ran the boxes through the table saw to create the reveals where the veneer butted up together. It gave a Modernist looking design and my sister, who is he recipient of this project loves them.

I just got Paintshop pro 8. How do I make my high resolution digital photos suitable for posting? HELP!!!?? Thanks.

The JPEG format is the correct one; you must need to tweak the settings a bit. When you save the file, click on the 'options' button in the save dialogue:

• Select 'progressive' (yields smallest size and looks better when loading)
• Make sure 'chroma subsampling' is set at default (I know of no browser that can display anything else).
• Fiddle with the compression factor until the file size is as small as it can be without introducing too many compression artifacts (around 10-40 is usual).
