Default Eton or Accuton or ???

got 2 Idea
1.c12-2 + Eton 5-880 MTM setup
2.c12-2 + 7" Accuton single midwoofer

which one do u prefer ? And Why ?
I found the midbass can't fit with the tweeter perfectly because it has a little lower efficiency between 1khz and 4khz .
Does that reduce it's performance a lot ?
Or should I forget these 2 idea and go for an Audiotechnology
midwoofer ?

What for sound do you like?

I think the c12 + 7" has more potential. Eton is very nice but the accuton has better top-end.

If you like very smooth details without any grain buy an AudioTechnology C-quenze 7" and combine that with a Morel MDT-33 / Supreme 110 or something from ScanSpeak.

The Accuton /Thiel has a better defined low-end, but the mids of the AT are very very good.

Motorsystem of AT is huge, below a picture of a 15cm c-quenze unit (also used by Sonusfaber and Eben).

With the 7" just pad down the tweet with resitors.

Anyway, you canīt use the top end sensitivity ofthe 7" as the target anyway... unless you put the speaker up against a wall or prefer thin sound without body.

In a typicall box the 7" will have 83-85dB in the low mids and thatīs what you have to aim for with the tweeter as well.

Using two drivers parallell you have higher voltage sensitivity (like 90dB with Etons) but lower impedance which will draw more current from the amp.
