Talking My Daughter's new speakers

Slim OBs with the buyout 12 ohm Vifa/JBL 6.5's and Dayton silkies (1st gen). They are 2.5 way with three .5 woofs. X-O points are around 250 and 1900. The paint job is several coats of Kilz primer sanded semi-smooth then I took the baffles to her preschool class and had the whole class put on the handprints with finger paints, then I finished it off with several coats of Defthane semigloss. The bases are truckbed liner. You can see the prototype X-O on one of them. I got my parts in from Madisound yesterday and hope to have them soldered up and buried in the base by this weekend. This was alot of fun to do and they were only about a hunnert' bucks all said and done. They are not the last word in detail or response, but they make up for that in sheer fun factor . I have only had one going so far so I don't know how they image yet. But the one cabinet is surprisingly fun to listen to. It really fills the room. Lets hear the comments, 'K....

Aargh, I would have placed some grilles too, if I had children who are so young yet...

But they look nice and the finish is child- like...

But if they sound well, who cares...?

Greetings, B.

Surprisingly enough, my kids are very good around the speakers. I think its because I make them a part of the build process. They really are proud of all the speakers we build.
