Question Assembly foam - any good for damping?

Hello everybody - first time in here

Have a question about using an assembly foam for damping the closed enclosure with a Seas woofer. I could make space for cabling by insterting thin plastic hoses and removing them after pouring foam into the enclosure. Foam looks as it has some advantages over typical (loose) damping materials such as mineral cotton:

- it stiffens enclosure
- it seals all the gaps
- has got excellent adherence to wood etc.
- can be drilled cut etc. after stiffening

Anyone got any experience with it? If I asked a dumb question, please gently explain - why?

If you mean expanding foam that cures rigid it will not work. Your cabinet must have a set volume of air inside to work properly and damping foam therefor must be open celled; expanded foam is closed cell.
