so i have two identical drivers (jordan jx53), and i was thinking about stacking them vertically like a line array...but if i have a small room and dont need much volume or carry, would it be pointless? is there any increase in sound quality? or should i just go with a single driver
OR, should i arrange them in dipole? and if thats what i should do, anyone know a website thatll tell me how (im kinda new) |

Vertically stacking will give you an additional 6dB of voltage sensitivity, but at half the impedance, so be sure your amp will handle it. You also gain some narrowing of vertical dispersion.
As for dipole, this speaker is not ideally suited for it unless you got something else to handle the low end. |

well i was gonna wire them in series...so double the impedance
that change anything? |

the jx53 likes a sealed box. there are others out there who are tried OB etc... and have used sealed in the end. search this forum.
jordan claims that the jx53 is suitable for line arrays and the jx53 is not prone to polar interference at upper freq. in fact they even have a desing that uses 4 jx53 on their site. if you need the extra sensitivity go for it.

Wiring in series will result in the voltage sensitivity staying level. |
