anyone have a diagram on how the 16 woofer/24 tweeter array is wired to get a 8 ohm load?

Try this...its from the power tapering thread thats currently going

You maintain a nice ~8 load, but you lower the output to the outer drivers. So the two at the top would be in the middle drivers, then next 4 down would be two on either side of the first two, and the 3 on either side of those last 4.

PS: This could be used for 6 drivers, 12 drivers, 20 drivers, and number in between. The intial two set the majority of the curve though.

For example if all driver were 8 ohms in the above picture, you would get a 8.7 ohm load. If you took out the 3rd row, leaving 6 you would get a 10.7 ohm load. If you changed them to 4 ohm drivers you would get 4.4 ohms and 5.3 ohms respectfully.

do you just add two more drivers to each row?

Yes, not the first row though. It won't affect the ohms very much...maybe go to 9 or something.
