Default Top Boxes and Sub for 5.1HT upgrade

I'm after some advice on the following regarding my HT upgrade plans.
The system will be used for say >80% HT and <20% music.

Main criteria
System is to sound dynamically clean, effortless with enough bottom end to move you internal organs.

Below is the rough layout of my HT and dimensions etc.

(The speaker layout this hypothetical)
Unfortunately room shape is a PIA…..

This is an old pic but this it is in real life

The current setup is ok but always leaves me wanting more

I’m thinking of a FOH layout something like the following:

Amplification
I’m planning on building the following:

- 5 x AV400 amps in mono block configuration (230W into 8ohm & 400W into 4ohms)
- For the sub/s I plan to make either the 800W or 1kW version of this amplifier.

Info available on amps from www.aussieamplifiers.com.au

Now for the questions:

TOP BOXES (5 off)

My surround decoder/processor (Technics SH-AC500D) has a function that selects if I have large or small speakers for each Front RFC and LR surround. Large is defined as capable of reproducing <100Hz small is not thus material <100Hz is sent to the Sub output

- Should I consider cabinets that will operate well at <100Hz or should I allow for my sub to carry the LF material from all the top boxes?

I’m considering a 2-ways passive system with HF horn and probably 2x 10” drivers.
-Any recommendations for top boxes, designs etc?
-2x10” drivers too big?

SUB/S
I would like to run 2 subs one either side of the screen.
Depending of the above top box question will determine the bandwidth of the sub system.
But for starters I say around 100Hz – ( as low as possible) which is normal anyways.

My question is what type is best suit for my application…..?
- Horn (Lab 12 or simular etc)
- Bipolar (speaker with a mental condition?…..)
- Front loaded ported 2x15"
- Band Pass

Pros and cons would be great.

Thx

Sorry, no, the pics aren't working. Geocities has referrer checking that prevents people from posting pictures on external sites, and it also prevents you from posting links that lead directly to a picture.

You might need to find a different host for your pics, or make a page that displays them and link to that.
