Default Alpine SPS-690A help please

I bought a pair of Alpine SPS-690A 6x9's to run through my Sony CDX-CA900 head unit. I am running these the 6x9's direct from the head unit but the sound is crap it only get's bassy when you fade either left or right so it means one speaker is lower in level, if i connected the 6x9's to the balanced out ports on my head unit would this make a differance or should i connect the 6x9's to an amp? i already have an amp running my sub would i need to buy another wiring kit and connect the other amp to the battery. Would appreciate any help quite new to all this stuff

Sounds like you have them wired out of phase!
