Thumbs down Ooh how cheap are the new Alain Benard ribbons

Have a look at the prices! We will be buying them in dozens! (ironic)

Will the new Raven line be that "cheap"? If so I will be going with the Scan-speak R2904-7000 hehe (like in TAF Oss loudspeaker Royal Excalibur)

All with DIY'ers in mind... by the way the Mangers have gone up from $595 last year to $699!! This e-speakers place is too pricey.

In his defense Andre has quite excellant customer service. His prices on the speakers I'm interested in are good...the highest-end ribbons and Mangers are out of the picture for me anyway.

The most expensive actually seems reasnoble considering the bandwidth and eff. (though admittedly only those with sizable wallets will be able to make the expendeture.)

The second most expensive is nearly in line with the R3 for both price and bandwidth. BUT if anyone would spend this much money why the hell wouldn't they spend 25% more for the most expensive? (i.e. ALIAN is competing against their own products here.. - just plain stupid unless they don't plain on making many and are creating the functional equivilant of a marketing "bait and switch".)

The "least" expensive seems dubious at best. Considering other alternatives, it is anywhere between 3-to-6 times as expensive for similar bandwidths and eff.

Yeah the money is better spend in the most expensive model, and as the price falls you can get the same quality with less money
