Hi all I just stumbled on your site and love it. I am new to the speaker building world and need some help on cab design and x-over. I aquired 2 Audax two34xo tweeters and 2 Audax hm170co (maybe hm170go?) and want to build some cabinets and x-overs. I am pretty good with wood and know basic cabinet building and bracing. But since I am new I have no clue on dimensions for the boxes and need advise on x-over.
Does anyone have a good design or can you help me? I have read that the tweeters are not the best but since this is what I have to work with, so be it. I just want to build and listen and gradually learn to do it on my own. Then I will get back to being serious about the sound Can Anybody Help Me? Thankyou in advance !! Jackmusic |

From the published data, the HM170C0 and G0 have quite different specs, so you would need to know which you have for anyone to suggest the optimal enclosure (particularly for a reflex enclosure).
If the label is missing, you could measure Fs to identify them. The C0 is listed as 42Hz, while the G0 is 51.5Hz. I like the TWO34 as the low Fs means that it can work well even with a simple first-order XO. (But then I'm getting old, and the poor output of the TWO34 above 15kHz doesn't bother me, as I can't hear it anyway!) |

Thanks for pointing that out and for the replies.
Upon further inspection the correct model number is hm170go. Does anyone have a good design for this set up with two34xo. Also what about x-over for these? Will a simple cap and resister do? Thanks for all help Jackmusic |
