Default The Satellite Speaker Challenge

I am searching for a driver combination (or full-range driver, if possible) that can outperform the Klipsch Promedia satellite while keeping a similar size. It should ideally have a minimal or no crossover. And of course, it will need to be shielded.

Thank you in advance.

beat (size wise at least)

I can't comment on the sound as I've never heard those klipcsh ones, mine don't have much bass, but the mid to high is great for how small they are.

RAW claims that it can be compared with the Fostex 103 or Jordan JX92 both of which i hear are very good to begin with.

This is a thread I will follow closely!

Same dilemma here: need to build speakers that sound good, can be used in HT, have to be small and good looking,... and affordable.

I was thinking about the HATT mkIII, but my wiff still believes they are huge

my family is looking for a solution to this problem (WAF).

On solution could be for all the men to live together and all the women to live together. So my Brother in law and father in law (he is a gourmet so that will take care of the food issue) will move in with me and my wife and son will move in with her mom.

Just kidding.

Besides if WAF is Bose's forte. Now even B&W (VM1), KEF (KHT) etc... are offering WAF compatibel systems.

TS, Alfire, What size limitations are prescribed, i.e. How big is your WAF requirement?

In another topic I listed a small cheap DIY minimonitor.
small, cheap DIY speakers

It is sufficient for my casual office listening but I was not sure until I tried. Therefore the cabinet is calculated to fit also with a Monacor SPH100KEP and either a Monacor DT28 tweeter or a Seas KTN25. (respective 55mm square or 48mm round in size)

The size of the cabinet is 11,8 cm wide, 20 cm high and 20 cm deep.

It would be advantagous to increase the size of the BR ports in case of the stronger Monacor SPH100KEP. The stay within the green range in winisd but it is towards the edge. Rearported is also a solution.

Note that the efficiency is only 85 db for both situations and that power limitations (20Wrms visaton and 30Wrms Monacor) will also limit SPL

If that's to large then you'l have serious WAF problem.
