Default [pics] What do you guys think of my new speakers?

Hey guys,
I just took delivery of my TLSK F6 inspired floorstanding speakers. These utilise one VIFA D25AG tweeter and one VIFA PW17 (6.5') woofer per box. They are run off a DSE 80watt X 2 stereo amplifier.
Kudos goes to Simboo for the box construction, Tensop for the actual drivers
Here's some pics:

My newly acquired DSE 8" Subwoofer to fill the small bass void. I didn't feel the need for a massive subwoofer, because 90% of the time the setup is used for music.

Hi,
I say that is a neat pair of speakers. How does it sound? Are you going to leave the MDF as it is or do you plan to finish it later?

Cheers,
Vivek

I intend to get the speakers covered in the same sorta vinyl as the table and subwoofer, when i get round to it - the sounds are VERY nice, but i maybe a tad biased, due to my limited experience of high end speakers. They maybe could only do with a tad more bass, which is solved by the presence of the subwoofer.

Cute, simple, effective. Are those swivel bases there or do you just have them standing on something? How long have you been playing them, as they may need some time to burn in and may actually be capable of sounding better over time.

Also, would love to hear about the xover specs if you feel the urge to devulge.

lol they're sitting on special swivel bases, made from yellowpages hehe I've had em playing for about.... a day now? i've got holidays atm, so they are playing for nearly 16 hours straight a day - I'll see if i can find the Xover schematics in my pile of crap around here, it's nothing special really - i'm not exactly an 'audiophile'

I wouln't worry too much about the subwoofer. In order for a magnet to damage a hard drive, it has to be a REALLY powerful magnet, and needs to be sitting litterally right against the drive. If it hasn't done any damage yet, I would assume that 20 years from now it still won't do any damage. I read about this at Dan's Data here and here.

That is a pretty decsent looking pair of speakers if I must say so myself. I am curious if you used any sort of bracing inside the cabinets, or any sort of fancy wavegiude woodwork? I am also curious about the crossover, and what kind of parts you used for it. Nice job!

There is bracing along the centre of the speaker nothing fancy. For all you people wondering about the xover - it can be found here. One thing i have found, is that even with the attenuation on the tweeter, it is rather unforgiving on lower quality mp3 recordings, as in you can "hear" the badness lol, i'm sure this is normal for any decent speakers, and the D25AG's are known to be rather "bright" anyway. Thanks for the feedback guys, if i could afford it, i woulda went dual P17's in a TL setup hehe, thats for another day.
