Default How big is too big?

Hi all!

I am currnetly using a pair of 10inch Tannoy DCs, but........

I can get hold of the 385A Berkeley's by trading in some old hifi gear.

As per all Tannoy boxes of the time (late 70's-early 80's) they are floppy so a rebuild is in order. Many of you contributed to the last thread and I hope you will again.

Tannoy recomend a box of 300l with 4 ports 100mm in diameter and 250mm in length.

What do you think of this? This is a big cab!!!

The driver perameters are attached.

300L
haha
Man, I duno, I'm 98% done with a 143L box, that will be up for sale as soon as it's done.

Apparently it's "Way to big for this living room, what were you thinking building something like this, you don't plan on keeping it do you..... blah blah blah..."

Good thing she's cute.

She thinks it's nice, and I of course agree, it's just too big. Over 2'x2' and a solid 27" high (after legs).

Quite so, precisely

She didn't say you may do so. Nor that it would end up in a living room if you actually attempted this.

You're just given authorisation to "try".

In my case , the phrase "you can try" meant, "OK to go ahead & make it -- then we'll see if it's acceptable".
It wasn't, of course

The next time she asks for the credit card to go shopping, hand it over and tell her she can try...
