I'm working on some HT main speakers using the Peerless 850122 midwoofer and the Seas 27TFFC tweeter in a sealed box.
My starting point was Jason Andreason's reflex mini monitor which features the two drivers I'm interested in using. http://www.kaiaudio.com/diy2001/jasonopen.html My query concerns the crossover and baffle step. Since I'm changing the enclosure dimensions (to a 10" wide baffle), I take it I'll have to change the baffle step component values. How do I calculate this, and would I have to change any other values in the crossover due to the change in enclosure shape and volume? Thanks in advance, Glenn |

Some useful info here and probably a better crossover. Baffle step correction is via Rbs and Lbs - very crude, and it appears to only offer around 2dB of baffle step correction. The SB network is for an 8.5" baffle, so 10" is 18% more, IMO probably the effect would be slightly richer voicing. I'd use the SB network as it is, with adjustment of the 3.5R tweeter resistor to taste for the 27TFFC. |

Thanks sreten. I had looked at the SB site a while ago, but didn't think of substituting the 27tffc tweeter.
http://www.speakerbuilder.net/web_fi...k/pcrkmain.htm The baffle width is no problem. I can change my enclosure dimensions to suit. Thanks again, Glenn |

A series filter, although for a floorstander can be found at:
http://www.geocities.com/rbrines1/Pa...less_Pipe.html He states that the filter suits Seas 27tffc. http://www.geocities.com/rbrines1/im...R_XO_small.gif |
