Question Center speaker

I just finished my first diy project and I´m very pleased with the outcome. I made proac 2.5 clones for my hometheater set as main speakers.

What I am not happy about is my curent center speaker, it seems a bit shallow in comparison with the clones.
I have searched the differend forums and come up with couple of interesting solutions. I.e the cc-1 and cc-2 center speaker desings.

But they are a bit too massive for my needs and I wonder about the scan-speak 18w8535 mid/woofer on top of the tv and so close to my livingroom wall. (..and the base goes thump thump..)

My first idea was to use the scan-speak D2010-8513 tweeter (same as in clones) and vifa P17SJ-00-08 midwoofer in a closed box.

At last to my question
I would like to know if these drivers are any good (the tweeter is) together or does someone else have better ideas or drivers for me. Also x-over configurations would be helpfull.

Please find it in your heart to help a beginner diy´er

Have you tried not using a center speaker? If you don't have big crowds watching movies, I don't think you really need it.

Just go with the same drivers as your mains, but do it sealed for a smaller box. You don't need that kind of bass anyway for your CC. You will need magnetic shielding to protect your TV.

Center's should match the voicing of your mains as much as possible.

I have once seen a proac 2.5 clone center somwhere on the net.

I think it was on audioclone.fr or something...

I you want to, I have a printout laying around somewhere. Give me a mail if you want me to look for it!
