Default Finished My First Pair of Speakers! (TB Bipoles)

My first Speakers...

They are TB 871 Bipoles that planet10 reccomended to me!

Many thanks to: planet10, timn8ter, and x.onasis you guys helped me out a lot!

EDIT: For the finish I used a 50/50 Woodglue/Water Primer (Cheap, I know ) and Rust-O-Leum spraypaint (similar or equal to what timn8ter used on hes 1.5s)

The BD-Pipe is really an ML-TQWT -- built a few of those. Have also built some bipolar push-push ML-TLs for matching centre channel for the BD-Pipes and a set of MTM (3" thick) for use as ceiling speakers (last 2 designs based on GM's posts on the Full Range Forum.

Haven't built one yet... a couple forum members have, one panned the TL, another really liked it. I have only a pr of 871s and a pr of 879s so will do a variation on the theme.

The TL for 2x871 is * 5.25" internal square prism** 21" internal height (+ legs) open at the bottom drivers mounted at the top on opposite faces stuffed evenly with 48 g of dacron wool. ** 27.5 in^2 x-section. This is an alphaTL and should have a bit of a rise at the bottom before it rolls off. It would be interesting to run this thru the (unpublished) omegaTL criteria, and also pop it into Martin's Tables to see what spits out (i am extending Martin's tables to cover higher Fs for my own use).

The drivers are best magnet to magnet -- which will the TBs shielded magnets doesn't actually make that skinny a box -- but often it is more practical to have an intervening brace (as per both earlier pics)

They sound great with preliminary listening. I have yet to test them out in a good room with a good amp.
