Does anybody actually use the EBP (Fs/Qes) to determine the suitability of a driver for a sealed enclosure speaker or is this just concept nobody really cares about?
I've been browsing a local retailer's catalog trying to find a woofer with an EBP around 50 (as suggested in the LDC for sealed enclosures), but I can't seem to find any! Sorry I'm a noob at this, and I'm just going through my first reading of the LDC. Thanks. |

An EBP below 50 is recommended for a sealed box and if greater than 100 it is recommended to use a vented box.
There is no sharp defining border between the 50 and 100 figures. You should be able to get Fs ( free air resonance frequency ) and Qes ( the electrical Q ) from a data sheet. Hope this helps. Cheers.
