Hi,
Just wondering if anyone has ever tried a high power 15” driver (i.e. 600RMS, 1200WProg) into a linear or tapered TL of about 47Hz effective length (about 12Hz above driver free air resonance)? Theory says it should work, but the question I have is how power stable it will be? From trial and error on lower power drivers it is obvious that the closer the TL length is to the resonant frequency of the driver, the less power stability you have. Driver considered is Fane 15XB, which can be driven for hours on end with 1200Watts in a correctly tuned box with suitable sub cut, probably the most power stable high power 15 around, and the cab is intended for portable sound reinforcement in a 4-way active system so will get abused! Any help will be greatly appreciated! Thanks Richard |
