I've decided to stick with the Fostex FE208EZ sigma and T900A supertweeters using a 1st order xo (1uf cap), but I can’t make my mind up on which rear folded horn enclosure to use. I found two nice looking plans but I can’t decide on one.
Recommended Fostex enclosure http://www.fostexinternational.com/d...ez_enclrev.pdf or The Jericho Horn http://www.plasmatweeter.de/jericho.htm I was just wondering if anyone has had any experience with this full range driver or even better has made the above enclosures using this driver. Hesky |

RCAFAN over at the asylum has worked extensively with this driver with very good results, notably in the perilous lower vocal region.
Plans and measurements here.... http://img.audioasylum.com/cgi/view.pl?UserImages=21168 There are several relevant discussion threads available in the high efficiency section of the forum, and he's very approachable. Cheers bzdang

Cheers bzdang,
There’s rucks of related information on the high efficiency section of the audioasylum forum! I think the best thing to do is just experiment, probably going to build the one that uses the least amount of materials as all the enclosures are excellent and perform on paper equally as good. That VW beetle with the huge horn on it looks really familiar Hesky |

i have built the jericho horns ( from the german magazine)
they are good performers for my 2A3 SE amps. i think it might be a good idea to add a tweeter, since high frequency range is present but not overwhelming. i also tried the speaker without the filter, however the midrange became to pronounced. kind regards john |

It is a great forum, a gold mine of knowledge!
RCAFAN built 13 prototypes in his quest to refine the low end of the vocal range (in the 200Hz neighbourhood?), and I think he's nailed it. I have v12 here to enjoy, although I wish that he'd bring back that JBL LE8T driver, which would rattle the dishes in the kitchen. bzdang

Hello,
As a starting point I'll try it with no notch filter just to see how it sounds, I think older 208 sigma's needed this filter to attenuate the resonances, but the I think the new EZ sigma's have a little less forward midrange. I think a super tweeter would be imperative as these drivers role off at 14k or so. RCA's enclosure looks like a good choice, it has a rather intriguing looking mouth, wonder if it helps. Hesky |
