Default just another rookie, looking for simple answers.

hi everyone

i will keep this very short. For the last month i have been wading through thread after thread(not to say that this is not fun),but now i am ready to start building.still i find myself at a loss for a solid decission, so here is what i have planned.Proac 2.5's and a very simple 2a3 amp that passfan was kind enough to explain in detail.

http://diyaudio.com/forums/showthrea...5&pagenumber=1

please let me know if i am making any huge mistakes,i'll be honest and say i am a little overwhelmed whith all these choices.so i just need to build so i can tinker and listen.

thank you very much.
Yosh
P.S. could this little system use a small sub (or could it even drive it)?

If that's the case, why don't you start off with some easy two-way bookshelf speakers?

They'd better be pretty efficient two-ways. What's the power output on a SET 2A3?

In my experience, you should do some little things first, screw up, and learn. Then do the expensive important one.

I don't think it's a problem, I just wanted to make a point. If you're going to go the purist route with a SET why not build some nice single driver units? Being in Port Townsend you're not too far from this guy I know in Victoria, B.C. that might have some ideas.

Planet10, there's nothing to stop you from telling all your crazy ideas and letting someone with lots of time on their hands (me) try them out...

I've always been interested in your ideas with bipoles...
