Default diysubwoofers.org - effective diameter from Sd

Am I nuts, or is the formula wrong?

http://www.diysubwoofers.org/prd/

(Admittedly, the formula could be wrong and I'm nuts too.)

Isn't Sd the effective cone area? In that case, the effective diameter is 2 x sqrt(Sd/pi), right?

I think you're right. Pi R squared is the area of a circle last time I checked. Drop Brian a note.

Sd = pi x Rsquared so Rsquared = Sd/Pi, R = root(Sd/pi).

I can't see where this is claimed to give the effective
diameter, it clearly states this is the effective radius.

sreten.
