Default W3-871S makes a change!

Click the image to open in full size.
Now that would be very easy to mount yes
And at $35.00 CND each http://www.ritlab.jp/shop/

That's the 593. That and the 871 are listed on the tb website. Their specs are similar, but not identical. Moving mass is different, possibly due to the different surround material. The qts of the 593 appear to be well suited for open baffle line arrays. The basket shape would be nice for that too.

Even though mounting is going to be harder, it would appear to be a more rigid basket. It's a shame that it's going to cost so much though.

Looking at what´s written on the driver looks more like W3-592SD
and indeed looks similar to for example W3-593S but who knows.

At that price the TB-speakers in germany are even comparable.

Not quite sure what the intent is with this thread but as stated that is a 593. The label says 593 and if you look at the web page the model is listed as 593 and even the image itself is named 593...

Not sure what all this has to do with the 871...

Ok
Ok
All the drivers at the 3" size are plus or -10% .
The new driver seen here was made for them after the 871.
And the 871 for those not up to spead was made from the W3-593S.
As was the W3-879S was made into a round frame for PE from the W3-594S.
I have had a few talks with Darren and PE can not get the exact W3-871S in and are looking at a possible similar driver to the 871 but with a possible Neo motor.

This above driver has.
The same soft parts as the 871 just the frame difference.
In all say a 871 with a square frame.
In the new TB catalog there is 23 new 3" drivers.
Every driver they make with just a frame change is a different part #.
Just like Nuera (AT) 28-847S PE has the 28-847SE with the silver trim painted BLACK.
Different part #.

In all just a copy clone what you want to say of the 871.
We will see if I get the data tonight?

I'm just surprised that a clone would have different published t/s specs.

TB W3-871S shielded paper cone full range speaker.

Specifications: Nominal impedance 8 ohms, DCR impedance 6.6 ohms, sensitivity 1W/1M 87 dB, Fs 125 Hz, VC diameter 20mm, air gap height 6mm, rated power 15 W, max power 30 W, BL 3.47, Mms 1.79 g, Qms 6.24, Qes 0.76, Qts 0.68, Vas 1.35, Cms 0.929, Xmax 0.5, Le 0.313

A clone is a copy correct?

Above are the 871 specs plus or minus 10% looks interesting.

The part number 593S yes no doubt.
Now if this driver (above) was made same frame as the W3-879S from PE .The words would stay the same.

Anyway i will get the data from them and see for myself what the specs say.

Any idea why PE hasn't been able to carry the 871s? Does TB set up specific distribution channels for their drivers?

I'm assuming that since this is such a niche market, that the two have an understanding not to compete with each other. And they shouldn't....I mean come on 23 new 3" drivers....most companies barely offer 23 drivers period.
