OK Im finally going to build the speakers ive been dreaming of. Ive short listed the driver to the following
Either 1 Scan Speaker R2904 Ring Radiator 94.5 dB : 2 - 40 kHz fs : 520 Hz 2 ATC SB 75-150s – Midranges Radiator 94dB : 380hz – 5kHz fs : 320 Hz 1 Volt – Radial 3853 – 15” Woofer 93dB 30-500Hz fs 32hz Or for the scaled down version which I may have to settle for 1 Scan Speaker R2904 Ring Radiator 94.5 dB : 2 - 40 kHz fs : 520 Hz 1 ATC SB 75-150s – Midranges Radiator 94dB : 380hz – 5kHz fs : 320 Hz 1 Volt – Radial RV3143 – 12” Woofer 91dB 39-700Hz fs 34hz Looking to cross the woofer / midrange at about 400hz (15”) 600 (12”) and blend the mid/tweeter at about 2kHz Any ideas, comments, criticisms, words of warning and words of advice welcomed Thanks |

Why not two 12" Volts, if you have your heart set on a super PMC/ATC style hybrid, rather than two ATC midranges?

I agree with mudge, 2 x 12s would be a better pick to go to a 400hz xover, not to mention sensitivit matching > 94db on the hf & mid really means you want 97+ on the bass.
Apart from that, really nice driver choices! |
