Default Blueprint Designs

Ok just came across this brand. I'd just like some feedback on it, you know it's performance etc.....The specs on it are pretty hot, but i've never come across it so i don't really know how it performs, and i can't get reviews on it either. I'm looking at the Blueprint Designs 1203 - 12" Sub Driver to be precise and would also like to know if it's a bargain at $225 .

To make it simple, no. You can get better performance out of an Adire Shiva, and those only cost $125. Only thing Blueprint has is the ability to handle more power. But still, get a Shiva, you'll have better response, spend less on the driver, and less on an amp.

Can't argue with that.

Hmm ok, well I'm looking for something that performs, can get loud and plays really really low, and i won't have to hold up a bank to get it . I was looking at the Adire Dipole. Wha you'll think bout that instead.........

If you're looking for loud and low you could go with the Tempest for the same money. I use a vented Tempest in my HT and it's a house shaker to be sure. However, the DPL12 is an excellent 12" woofer that was designed for dipole or horn applications. The extra cone control makes it that much better for vented or sealed applications. I helped my buddy build a DPL12 in a sealed 75 liter cabinet and it's excellent.

I would have to say that IMHO I dont see how you could say the Shiva would provide more output then the BP 1203? The Shiva is capable of displacing about 1.5 liters of air while the BP 12 is around 2.6 liters that is about 40% more displacement then the Shiva and actually right at the same displacement of a Tempest. Actually the xmax of the BP is 25mm which is only 2mm less then the xmax of the Adire Sadhara. I am not saying in any way that the Shiva is a bad sub, I have owned both a Shiva and a Tempest. But the BP 1203 and 1503 are much closer to the Sadhara and Tumult in terms of output and displacement. I currently am running a BP 1804 driver in a large ported enclosure in my HT setup and it is capable of producing 120+db all the way down to 14hz and has an in room F3 in the neighborhood of 12 - 13hz. I would say that I would go for the BP if you are looking for shear output and extension, for the money I dont think you will find another driver that has more displacement.

You're going to benefit from cabin gain so you don't necessarily need something with the displacement of the drivers mentioned, but if you want loud and low, the more displacement the better.

Thanx for the help guys. I'll try to see if i can sample it b4 i bu though. As I'm in St.Lucia that's kinda hard to do. I've also been looking at the Stryke Audio AV12. Looks nice too but i'm not sure if that's a better buy?

Are you including shipping costs? The AV12 is another nice driver. Lots to choose from!

Nah i'm not including shipping. I'm concentrating on the item first, shipping will come in after. But shipping is a killer, about a $100 US and up and customs will bury u
