Help on choosing an old Goodmans speakers

Does anyone recommend a good old speakers by Goodmans?

Which any of these would someone recommend from ebay and why:

The HE1s are probably the only ones you could call classics, but even so are still beaten by other comparable competitors. But for around £75, you will certainly get good value

So if i was to look for an old speaker (say 1970's to early 1980's) then i should be looking for a pair of speakers by Rogers or Tannoy?

I would recommend non of those in the search.

Goodmans was a huge company making OEM and Retail Speakers covering the range between cheap, nasty and awfull sounding (especially later items, post the early 1970's) and great. Due to the extreme width & breath of their range it is hard to say if an unknown Goodmans Speaker turns out great, acceptable or awful.

Of the Goodmans i've had thru here -- not a large sample set mind you -- the little Goodmans Maxims were the only ones worthy of keeing in their boxes.

Things are a little cross threaded here, I'd forgotten about
the Maxim's, which are not bad for music, but are brilliant
near field monitors for studio use.

As stated in another thread the Dimension 8 is the only
other Goodmans of note - a semi line array design.
