Default quality 6.5 midbass

I had recently posted about using an 8" driver in
my cabinet but have decided on trying a 6.5 for
possably better midrange.

anyways
it's going to be a 2.5way 8" woofer (ported)
6.5" midbass (sealed) and tweeter.

woofer crossed over at around 300-500 and the mid
running from wherever it starts producing until
tweeter crossover somewhere around 2400.

so i am wondering whats out there for midbass 6.5
drivers (sealed) and crossed over at around 2400?

would like to find a really quality sounding 6.5
where i am more concerned with the midrange than
the bass.

looking for something with descent power handling
and an spl of around 90-92 preferably.

would like to try to stay around $100 or less for
a pair if i can.

I have looked at all the specs of various drivers
but just don't know which ones are really nice
sounding units.

so I was wondering what might be the quote bang
for the buck in a quality driver that i might not
know about.or maybe overlooked.

I can see all the stats in the world just don't
know how they sound.

thanks for all your help.

Sensitivity at about 88dB isn't that high, but power handling is greater than your requirements, and the frequency response looks pretty damn good. The driver also performed well in Linkwitz's distortion testing.

<<The Peerless HDS 850439 is the definite leader in the performance versus price category for this group. It is well designed and built.>>

By the way, have you given any thought to using the tweeter and midwoofers in an open baffle?

I just got one of these :http://www.partsexpress.com/pdf/297-440.pdf and I am very happy with it. I'm using it for center channel and it is very smooth through the midrange.

Default 6.5 driver

before anyone asks i know i can use a different size driver.

but for other reasons i'm asking for choices of 6.5 drivers!

the cabinet is allready built and that is what i
need! a 6.5 driver to fit the hole.

it will produce a lttle bass and mid upto where
the tweeter will take over at around 2400 and
most quality 6.5 midbass drivers should be able
to do that. and that is what i need. thanks

Maybe Monacor

http://www.monacor.de/int/en/produkt...nummer=10.2420

Here in Europe it cost around 60-70 euro a unit

I know some speakerbuilders that are very pleased with it and dare to cross it a 5Khz.
