Default Question for sreten

sreten,

I am curious how you post pictures of a modelling program. What program do you use to do that?

Off the top of my head, I think he uses WinISD Pro from http://www.linearteam.dk/

Yes, that is correct. But how do you take a "snapshot" of WinISD to post on the board?

There's a little button on your keyboard called "Print Screen"

To use it in windows:
press Ctrl+print screen to capture the whole screen
press Alt+print screen to capture only the active window

The picture is now in your clipboard.

Open a graphics program like paint.

Select Edit - paste from the menu, and you have your picture. Save it in whatever format you like.

...but if you're going to post it here then be friendly and conserve bandwidth by compressing it appropriately

Or don't and give the 56k'ers a hard time.

The program has an option (right click) to save the graphic to a bitmap file.

As long as its less than 800 x 600 I open it in Paint (right click edit) and save as GIF.

You can then include it using the attach file in your post.

This works with WinISD beta, but for some reason not the Pro alpha version.

sreten.
