So I have as a study project build these enclosures:
Their inside volume is approx. 11 liters . I had in mind using hds182 woofers. When calculating in unibox I concluded that this would not be the best speaker since portnoise will be extreme and Xmax is exceeded under 100Hz. The big question now is what woofer will have an fb ~ 55 Hz and can be placed in a 11 lietr encloser (bass-reflexed or closed) Or will I get more result with placing a passive radiator in the bottom? Ralph ps budget is important otherwise I'd use a scan speak 15w/18w |

Could do a lot worse than installing this :
http://home.hetnet.nl/~geenius/DD8-MkII.html Though volume may be less than 11 litres due to the drivers crossovers etc. Sealed is perfect for a subwoofer, full range drop the tuning a little to say 37 Hz due to smaller volume. |

Take a look at Hi-Vi F6 driver. I just go one to play with and it sounds great so far and will work in a box around 11l-12l.

In this application you have to use drivers of the 13-15 cm range
Vifa PL14 Peerless HDS 134 Visaton AL130 Seas new alu range Audax HM130Z16 or G8 I don't think it will reach 55 Hz are the more affordable types |
