Default Small bass Horn?

I was wanting to build a small, low power (50-100 watt) bass horn using an 6 1/2, 8, or 10 inch sub. This will be used for my computer sub, and as an experiment in horn loading drivers. Any help would be nice, Driver recommendations, documented projects, anything. Thanks.

Default Bass horn

I'm with Till. The driver may be small, but the size of the horn is still determined by the wavelength of frequency at cut off.

That is to say, a 40 Hz wavelength is about 28 ft. If you figure 1/4 wavelength for the horn with corner loading, you still end up with 7 ft of ever-expanding length wrapped up (folded) into a box which must have a mouth circumference to fit the same frequency/wavelength (some fudging here). So, while the driver may be small, the box is not.

Might do a search on the recent thread here about the "Bose Cannon". Similar 1/4 wavelength concept again without the horn expansion. Or use a transmission line and add power.

Tim

by small, i mean, a reasonable size folded horn. I dont want something 12 feet tall and 6 feet wide. Just something small.

2 Tang band W8-740c . Properly loaded into a corner. Your long skinny horn could be ~1/2 Lab horn size. For a 30 Hz horn.
