Default Basic Q about port diameter(s)

Hi,
I´m in the process building a ML-TL and I love to use what I have on hand.
I´ve got two 2.36in diameter ports lying around which are angled and end after a lenght of 3.78in with a diameter of 2.165in.

The only literature I have around is the german translation from Vance Dickason (not so cool BTW) and I wondered there is not one comment about angled ports.

Which diameter do I have to calculate with?
Or is it rather worth buying or finding a "straight" port for maybe easier and more successful tuning of the ML-TL.

TIA
Regards
Jens

If they are tapered (like a truncated cone - or frustum) I wouldn't use them - but it sounds like there isn't much of a taper, so it probably wouldn't matter much. If you must use them, I would go with the average diameter for port calculations.

Thanks for the advice.
I´ll have a look what mathcad says about the average diameter but will check if I can get another straight port just in case.
Don´t want to get into trouble once the port-hole in the baffle is cut.

Regards
Jens
