hello all,
i am (was) a b&o nut and loved the way they looked and sounded (did i mention looked). i was satisfied with the systems, but always had a nagging feeling that the speakers really suck...they perform great for their look but just doesnt work for me anymore. anywayz...a few b&o systems later (and a lot of $$$), i have stuck with the old beocenter 9000 as my centerpiece. i have successfully mated it to b&w matrix 804 and am quite happy with the results. the speakers are very precise and driven very well by the beocenter (this beocenter, unlike the latest generation has its own amp and can drive passive speakers). however, the 804's, while bright and punchy, lack the bass i am looking for in certain styles of music. so...i got a revel perfroma b15 active sub (i was sold on it at the time). but...i am confused on how to connect it. b&o is notorius for being b&o-centric--they generally do not work with anything else. specifically, the beocenter has a preamp out (i'm not sure how this differs from a line out) that i believe should go to the sub. no success. basically, has anybody had success with connecting b&o equipment to non-b&o speakers. i also have a beosound 9000 (6 cd changer) that i would eventually like to migrate to but have no idea how i will drive the 804's or a sub with it) suggestions? thanks for your time in reading this and your consideration. |
