Hi guys
I wonder if anyone knows these drive-units? They are 12" in diameter, and seems to be unique in design (they remind me of something suggested in the DIY Parthenon thread). They come with dedicated crossovers and are of an unusual design in which there is no front suspension. The driver excursion is centered by it running in a metal sleeve (this is that part that sounds like it came from the DIY Parthenon thread). Does anyone have any info on these? A Google search delivered nothing. I might have the spelling wrong, but that is as it was given to me by the seller. Thanks guys.
Enjoy,
Deon

Hi!
I second that question!
I have a pair of Philips 10" woofer with cones made of "styrofoam" also without surround and centred by the metal sleeve that is integrated in the basket.
I would like to know some facts for these units and have som info on designproposals, TS parameters etc.
Anyone?
Best regards
Martin

Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Hi Peter
'Pompadon' was how it was spelled by the current owner (from whom I am buying them). Bombardon does make a lot more sense, and they certainly look like exactly what I need. Thank you very much for the info. From the specs I got after a search it seems that they may be a bit low Q to use on an open-baffle, but I'll have to see when I get them. Thanks for the help though.

PS. My first language is Afrikaans, so I do understand some of the dutch.
