JBL S99 Lancers tweeter replacement and Xover mods...help!

I picked up a pair of JBL s99 Lancer. The gentleman that I bought them from was the second owner and he bought them in the early 70s. The former owner admitted to "rocking out" when one of the the tweeters stopped working from that point they set stacked in the corner.I
-The foam on the JBL LE-14A woofers are whole and yellow but stiffer than a gentleman over using viagra. So a refoam kit will be ordered for the woofers.

-I also want to completely revamp/update the crossover network. I may sale the current ones. If you guys can I will need some spoon feeding help with the cover design and what I wil need. Thanks in advance.

-On to the tweeters...I have a set of minty Peerless HDS 810921 large formats that I've used years ago in a sound quality car stereo from stage. I'd really like to use them but only if DIY thinks they will synergize well with the JBL woofers.

I'll keep the cabinet but clean them.up a bit. Power will come from a Dynaco ST400.
I'm eager to.see what you guys think.

If like to add...I've used this set.of.tweeters.in a car audio SQ setup years ago. My fondness for these particular tweeter was how gradually i could blend them with my midbasses drivers and how low they could be crossed while.maintain excellent sound.

Still looking for input on this guys. I def think I'll give the HDS tweeter a go on this however I would love some help with completely rebuilding the Xover network from the ground up.

Have you compared the sensitivity levels between the two tweeters ??

That will answer why your plan is doomed to failure before you even start.
