Lightbulb Hypersonic Sound Research

Dear All,

I am currently a 15 year old student enrolled in a science research class at Carmel high school in Carmel, New York, my topic of choice is hypersonioce sound, the exact topic of this thread. I figured i would introduce myself, and hopefully this thread will ebnifit me even more than it already has! Since September 2003 i have been reading jounral articels, studing all the inner workings of this newfound technology and i am currently working on some intended research for an Authentic experiment of my own. So far i have presented a Powerpoint on a journal article conceringin this topic and plan to write a journal article of my own next year sometime I hope i can contuinue to post and feel free to comment ask questioons or provide help in any way. Thanks again.

Respectfully

Eric Marchwinski

Make sure to use the spell checker feature of the word processor you are going to be using for your article.

Default but, how can we help?

Eric, I congratulate you on your interest and on your parent's choice of a great name.

But how can we help?

Did you know there's an MIT group doing ultrasonic audio also? "Audio Spotlight" maybe was the name...

There is a company that has been researching Hypersonic Sound for several years. The URL is http://www.atcsd.com/index.html

In a nutshell, the way it works is that an ultrasonic signal is aimed at the listener. There is another ultrasonic beam that is FM modulated with the desired sound, and the two signals mix acoustically at the listeners ear producing the desired sound only in the listener's ear...the site describes it.

I have read numorous, like 6 journal articles on this topic and i also have read the "White Paper" from ATC and have found alot of nessicary information. Hypersonic means the ability to meet or exceed 5 times the speed of sound, as sound cannot travel faster than itself, having "hypersonic" sound is a contradiction in terms.
