Baffle shape, width and overall size, under certain circumstances, can have a major effect on the final performance of the drivers used, especially the main woofer(s) and if a three (or more) way system, the mid woofer. I asked about the baffle size (dimensions) to learn the expected F= and F peak frequencies your baffle will produce. If very narrow these two values are higher, and if wider, lower.

Using the S. Linkwitz spreadsheet, a nominal 12" diameter driver on your 24" wide baffle would have an F= somewhere in the mid 90 Hz area. F peak, which can be difficult to exactly to predict, will be in the 275-350 Hz area.

Your baffle width is wide enough to support pretty much any 12" driver, regardless of it's Qts. If you baffle width was say only 14" (-10") a high Qts driver would be a better choice in most cases. A high resonance, low Qts driver would roll off much quicker. Hope the above make sense.
