Has any body built or heard the Ekta Mk2?
I am coming close to giving it a go.
It seems to me that if must have a very high ratio of build cost to what it would sell for as a commercial product.
I also want to use it in a medium sized room and seems likely to work in that sort of space.
Do you think a 35 watt Bakoon 5521 amplifier would drive them ?It is a glorious sounding amplifier but no powerhouse.

I am soon to embark on the Kairos 3 way build which uses the same drivers as Troels SB10.

Do you plan to use the ported 10" SB Acoustics SB29NRX-75 woofer and passive 3-way crossover circuits discussed by Jeff Bagby? Will you Bi-Amp with an active crossover?

Or, will you use the ported 9" Satori WO24P-6 for better tone in your small room? The SPL models very close to the SB29NRX-75, but the WO24P has a shorter Xmax and lower MaxPower. You would need to change the woofer crossover inductor.

Or, do you want the superior transients and reduced phase shift of a sealed woofer with -F3 ~37Hz like the 12" SB34NRX75-6 in a larger, wider 3.5-4cuft sealed volume cabinet? You would need to change the woofer crossover inductor and might need to attenuate SPL by 1db.

Decisions, Decisions, Decisions... If you jumped to MiniDSP, you could get time alignment with a flat baffle plus reduced edge diffraction, and might be able to purchase just the drivers local. Decisions, Decisions,..

Well yes I am tempted to build both the Kairos 3 way and the Gravesen Ekta Mk 2.

Two speakers using the best drivers from two different makers by two highly regarded designers would make for an excellent comparison.

For the Kairos 3 way I am using the SB 29NRX woofer in a sealed box.
Already ordered all those parts.
And probably all in solid jarrah which makes for fabulous sounding cabinets.

Two-way Kairos cabinet dimensions: 16” tall x 9” wide x 13.5” deep at bottom, 9.5” deep at top.
Woofer cabinet dimensions: height of 24-25”, width 12”, depth of 14”.

Will exact builds of the Kairos and woofer cabinets fit your room?
Have you sketched out alternative cabinet designs?
Jeff Bagby's woofer cabinet with 46l=1.5-1.6cuft volume after bracing, could be used sealed -F3=45Hz with Qtc=0.66. Since the SB29NRX75-6 frame is 290mm = 11.4", a front baffle external width of 13" would reduce reflected woofer air pressure push-back on the cone.

You might also consider a 13" wide + 12" deep Kairos cabinet which matches the 13" wide sealed woofer cabinet, where the center baffle width is still 9", but you add 2" thick deep front side bevels to increase the width out to 13" to match the woofer cabinet width. Edge diffraction still begins at 9" which the crossover was designed for, but with a more even spread into the room.

You might also consider a woofer cabinet baffle with a 9" top and 16" bottom taper. The woofer could be mounted at 13" width.

Yes I have made a couple of scale models. The Dalek style which is wider at the bottom seems to look best. The other design which looks OK is about a 7 degree sloping front baffle/14 degree back baffle transitioning to the 14 degree slope on the front of the top section..

We have drifted from the Ekta Mk2 though which is very different and lends itself to a simple rectangular box.
